“I’m really curious by nature. I need to know what’s over the next hill, how something works, or why something happened. And the more I discover, the more commonalities I find. This helps me as a communicator because by making a connection between something new and something familiar, I can make a concept easier to understand. It also helps me problem-solve. As any scientist or engineer knows, the solution to a problem can often be found in unexpected places, as long as you have the vision to recognize the right connections.”

“One of my earliest memories is of my mother scribbling on a pad of paper and challenging me to make something of her doodle. That doodle is now my client’s branding challenge, at first glance a twisted mess with no beginning or end. No definition and no purpose. But the solutions are there if I study the puzzle closely enough. Turn it upside-down. Look for patterns. Challenge preconceptions. Identify shapes. Alter my perspective. Find meaning. Simplify and clarify, then show the world what I have found. I still love the challenge.”
